8th July 2011 – Hazel’s bow starts bending as she is carefully moved from the water, showing her fragile state.
Most of the bottom boards in the front 15 feet dropped off as she came out of the water. This made the fore end very floppy and it was a struggle to avoid losing Hazel’s shape. Chris Leah and Stuart spent an hour or two messing about with clamps and ratchet straps to pull everything back into the right place so that Stuart could make accurate moulds to shape the new fore end round.
Hazels interior is stripped and the old plywood lining is cleaned out.
